Only one clylinder with spark

Hi All,

Have a Suzuki DT 50hp with only the top cylinder with spark.

When I take the leads apart leading to the coils and swapping them around, I will then have spark at bottom cylinder.

With the two leads coming from the CDI unit, would this be where the problem is?

Any help would be most appreciated,

Thanks justintime,

Would you know of a link I can read up on to test them both including the Volts coming out of the Magnitor.

Googled it and now more confused. one tells me I can't measure AC, then watch a video showing him doing so, but on a very old engine?

Many Thanks

Re: uslugi remontowe lodz

You should always use an peak reading dva style meter when testing a/c volts on magneto. make sure your on a/c setting- you should be getting 4-8v from a trigger coil but suzuki has alot of ways they set their ignition up.

Many Thanks to your reply. Now have the engine up abd running. It was a bad CDI unit.

Will have to buy myself one of these meters with dva.

Thanks again,
