I'm involved with the repair of the above engine.
The engine was running fine, then left for 3 weeks.
After the 3 weeks the engine was tried and it did not fire at all.
The following has been checked:
emergency stop (appears OK)
coils (work on a different engine)
sensors under the flywheel have a measurable resistance
I'm not certain what to expect from the electronic control unit.
I'm hoping that someone could help with the following:
the resistances to expect from the sensors & coils under the flywheel
How to test if the electronic control unit is working.

I'll get you some numbers tomorrow. You are probably looking at a charge coil. Resistance tests don't always tell the story though.

Low speed charge coil brown-red wires, 80 ohms. High speed coil red - blue wires, 240 ohms. Pulser coil w/r-w/b, 300 ohms, only fires cyl 1&3. Crank position sensor, 197, fires # 2. All coils are infinity to ground, check on K or meg scale to ground.

Hi
Thanks for the help in solving our problem. It turned out that both coils were down. The 80 ohm coil being 18 ohm & the 240 ohm coil not showing a fault. I think the insulation on the coil had given up the ghost which will not show up on a resistance test.
