All: Please help me diagnose this one. I'm a novice so go easy.
While running today/yesterday the motor would occasionally drop out and lower the RPM. It was pretty strange. It would start up fine idle ok, then start to go, we'd get to about 12 mph and take it up to 20 mph then it would drop back down to 12 mph. It was dropping sproadically, on and off when up in the higher RPM. A lot of speeding up then slowing down. It just sounded like it was struggling. No alarms or anything went off. Back in March, I had the lower unit oil, oil, fuel filter, and spark plugs changed. Just some general service. The first trip after that, I had the same thing happen. It happened for about 15 minutes, I figured it was the new fuel filter and a patch of water in the fuel. It worked through that and haven't had any problems since. That was about 3 fishing trips ago. It started doing this again yesterday.
Any ideas?
