1986 OMC temp. oil pressure, and volt gages.

My gages are not right or don't work at all. How do you know if it is the sending unit or the Gage, or what is a good replacement.
 
see the bug black main plug on the starboard side with a spring clip holding it together.

Take it apart and clean all the connections in there all the pin holes and male side also.

Put it back together and post back if it helped the gauges.
 
I pulled my connectors apart, they are a round connector with an O ring seal. They look like new, I sprayed them with contact cleaner, dried them then applied dye electric grease to the O ring, reconnected with no change.
 
I was unable to find fuses for these gages and the schematic doesn't show fuses for these gages. I'm going to the coast tomorrow for a week and I will deal with it wen I get back.
