VOLVO TAMD63P question???? please help

Good Day to all,
I'm looking in buying a 36 convertible and it comes with 1996 volvo TAMD63P with 1350hrs....my question, are they good motors??? do they smoke a lot??any problems???

they are the best mechanical diesel motor volvo penta ever made. tough as nails, last forever. any maintenance records available? they dont smoke at all if properly setup and propped. as with any motor there could be problems or faulty parts, but that can only be determined with sea-trial, compression check, and maybe even oil analysis

i have seen them with 10,000 hours still running ok
