Gunwale repair

I have a 74 CC 25' Express Cruiser I was walking up alone the gunwale and notice several spots that were soft. All the spots were around things like vents and hardware that goes through. I'm sure due to age that the wood core under the fiberglass is rotten. Is there a way to fix the spots without separating the halves?

Ayuh,... That sorta Depends...
It Depends on the original construction,...
And, it may Depend on whether you can get to the backside...

If it's balsa core constructed, ya might be able to dig out the rot, 'n repack the void with a resin putty...

If ya can reach the backside, you could laminate fresh wood in-place...

I was wondering if there is a way I could pump in some type of resin. I would have no problem drilling a few holes and pumping something in. I just don't know what is available. I do know it is a balsa core. I'll have to check to see if I can get to it from the back side although some spots may still be hard to reach.
