New guy here. Need assistance on shaft rod and clutch rod disconnect while removing the lower unit. Many postings on issue but not on the 40DT 1985 that I can see. Do i turn the barrel nut on lower end of clutch rod and loosen the lock nut on top end of shift rod and seperate which seems correct? or is there another area that is at the very top of the clutch rod under the carb which seems very difficult and wrong. Also when I spin (by hand) the prop it spins free in N, CW in F but will not turn either way in R. This is done while motor is not running and not in water. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
