I have a 2000 mercury 200 saltwater. At idle the temperature get to 3/4 on the temp guage. If you get the boat on plane it goes down to 1/2 on temp guage. I just inherited the boat from my father in law who put a new water pump in before winterizing. When i started this year before putting in the water. I didnt use the ears on the lower end i used the flush hole next to the pisser hole. Do you think i burnt out the pump. Or any help what my problem could be. Getting hot under load i could see it being the water pump. But running hot at idle not under load im baffled help help help
