Have a 2000 2 cycle 150 HP. Seems to start OK, runs on water OK (some odd surges in RPM's w/o throttle increase) but when I try to throttle back to idle at end of 30-40 minute trip, it dies. Hard to restart, sometimes have to choke it.
Ran lots of seafoam through it with small tank and fresh fuel--did not solve problem as when I hooked back up to main tank with 62 gallons fresh fuel (about 18 gallons older fuel in tank) and ran 40 minutes on water--still dies.
Seems like bad fuel would manifest differently. Low jets problem should show up before running 30 minutes. Core symptom is the problemn only shows up after running---of course when you are far from land! Ideas?
