2003 Yamaha 4 stroke 25 hp kill switch wont' work.

kill switch started working sometimes.... so I ordered a factory new one. Just put it in as I have a party on Saturday. Same thing. Won't kill it at all. Can start it with the lanyard off.... I repulled the cover and made double sure I had clean bare metal on the ground attachment.

WTF is going on? Some things drive me nuts. I"m off to check a few things with an ohm meter I can't figure this out at all.

I"m assuming to look for NO and NC would be killed...?

FYI ohm meter answered it all. Pretty simple actually but never dawned on me. I had a great connection at the ground bracket. Problem was teh ground bracket was no longer somehow making connection with the block. I simply added another crimp on ring connector in line, and slipped it behind a bolt on the block. Once that was done the block had a ground to the bracket again. Some day in the future I"ll get another 10mm bolt and make a new heavier ground jumper to add back to the ground bracket.

yamaha's are know for bad grounds
their jetski motors are notorious for it
