Sudden increase in idle, 2000, 225 3.0 Litre

I have a 2000, 225 Merc 3.0 Litre. It has always idled fine until yesterday. All of a sudden, when in neutral, the boat now idles really high. So high that putting it into gear sounds like a truck hitting a wall.

This is a sudden change. I checked all the levers, etc... and there are no hoses obstructing the movement that I can see.

Any ideas what might have caused this sudden change and how I can repair it?

The electrocnic starting system seems to have kept the automatic choke on while the motor was running. I disconnected the batteries and it seemed to rest the comoputer. It's idling fine now.
