inverter for gas boat

Does anyone know of an inverter/charger that is safe to install in a gasoline powered boat engine compartment?
I don't want to run battery wires everywhere, to move the inverter out of the compartment the battery cables would be at least 12 feet.
I only need 2000 watts max.The only inverter that I have found is no longer in production.

Thanks in advance, Rob

If you have enough ventilation on your compartment, It shoud be safe but if isn't, do so. Read the instructions on the inverter you plan to buy before buying, that is your best bet.

I wouldn't recommend anything in the engine compartment that's not designed to go in an engine compartment. Just not worth the risk.
