need help finding the year of my motor

I have a 1979 mercury Bahamas 19.5 ft boat with a Johnson 115 but the motor looks newer then the boat how do I find out if its the correct motor

There should be a tag on the transom mount with the model no. on it. Give us the model no. and we can tell you what year it is.
