sea king three neutral?

i purchased a sea king three manufactured by gale. its a 1961, and the first two characters of the model number are "GG". my question is, does this motor have a neutral/forward switch? when i start it it seems to be in gear already. any help will be greatly appreciated....
 
The GG is just the manufacturer designator, hence how we know it was made by Gale. If the motor has neutral it would be a lever on the side but likely your motor is always in drive with reverse being turning the motor 180 degrees. Definitly something to keep in mind when starting at the dock or around other boats.
