On the drive shaft there is a tapered roller bearing on the drive shaft , how do most people get it to come off? torch, puller what ? figured it would just be snugglely against the flange on the drive shaft. I'm wanting to just change the shafts out in the lower unit and not have to replace and shim the bearing to make it within tolerance. I know i need a manual on the motor ! just need some insight.
Thanks

best to use a hydraulic press.-----------Your local shops can help you with this.------------Warm up the new one and it will fall in place.

The press would definately make the job easier, but you can pull it at home with a decent puller (the kind the shaft of the puller goes right through the bearing (hole) and you then tighten with a ratchet)
