Yr model 25hp mercury

Hi all, just chasing the yr model to my 25hp merc that i aquired recently, serial no is 6211396. also chasing a wiring diagram/scematics, to work out what does what. thanks in advance. joeplumb
 
Hey Joe, that is a 1983 model. It's worth grabbing a copy of "Seloc's Mercury Outboard 1965-1991, 1&2 cylinder" sold as either a download version or in print for about $35 bucks (sold on this site, any Merc dealer and many marine dealers).

Has everything you could ever ask, plus diagrams, step by step's, etc for all electrical and mechanical systems.

And that's a really nice motor - definately worth taking care of properly once you got her running well...
 
thanks alot for everyones hellp! really appreciated. got the motor for free at the dump, has spark and compression, just need to find a tinny now!
