Suzuki 1989 40 hp

I am looking at buying a 1998/99 Suzuki 40 hp, oil injected (dt-40) motor. Can't find any reviews, opinions, information on said model. Found this forum and hoping someone has this motor and can provide me with some performance, repair history, and general reliability of this motor.

I have heard it is may be a pig on gas, and in general are Suzuki replacement parts more expensive and hard to come by. Any comments, opinions help would be appreciated.

Hi, I've had 1994 DT40 for years and they are very easy to work on. Spare parts seem to be same as other brands - I've even had the experience of receiving my Suzuki spare parts in sealed "genuine Yamaha spare parts" packages when I've got them shipped from qverseas (I'm in Australia).
Overall, I think they are good motors although they are sensitive regarding fuel (carby etc) area.
