30e Mariner - Year Model Needed

Hi there

I am from SA and new to this forum - is there anyway to tell the age of a mariner motor made by yamaha - below are the numbers on the engine itself - its a 30hp electric start

30e
68901 [ this number is on the starboard side of the motor]
689 / 406028 [ this number is on the port side ]

Any help / comments would be much appreciated

Hello Xtc1965,

this one is difficult to nail the year down ow but it looks to have been made from 1979 - 1984 here are the Parts when/if you need them
