Clymer?
Seloc?
Manufacturer (Johnson, Yamaha, etc)?
real paper manual vs DVD?

Any thoughts on which of these serves the everyday motor-owner the best? Easiest to follow? Most comprehensive?

Unless it's something major, I plan to learn and do as much repair/maintenance myself as I can.

Any thoughts/ideas are greatly appreciated.

thanks

Re: Manuals

Some of the private brand manuals have mistakes.Have information for many models ( confusion )-------------Then some of the factory manuals assume that you are mechanically inclined and have worked on motors before.---------So both might help.

Re: Manuals

I recommend Yamaha factory manual. It is not that hard - definately everyday moto-owner friendly and factory recommended information. Paper manual is the best, convenient and you can carry it around. Go to yamahapubs.com.

Re: Manuals

shoot me email

i have it for ya!!

problem with yami manuals, it does not give you spet 1 step 2 and so on

it post a picture with numbers on how to do it

because these manuals are write in Japanese then translated to English

mercury manuals are the best if speak English, LOL

Re: Manuals

bbudsea,

We offer the Seloc Yamaha manuals here on this site.

They are available as the printed book and the online subscription. As racerone mentioned there are pros and cons to the factory and aftermarket manuals, but the Seloc manuals see to be very good. We sell thousands of them to boatowner mechanics as well as professional mechanics.

Good luck with your learning!

Regards,
Andrew
