Yamaha 2007 25 hp 25ELH Gear oil question?

Hello I have a 25ELH (2 Stroke) 6L2K L 10313XX, year on manufacture 09/07.

The manual calls for SAE 90 Hypoid gear oil. I see no mention of the API

Is it Acceptable to use Castrol 85-90 with an API of GL-5. Most all the different types/manufactures of gear oil claim the GL-5 is above and beyond the the GL-4 and can be substituted.

Can I use this Castrol?

Thanks Justintime. I see you also responded to my same question in the Honda forum. (I have both motors) The oil I have has an MT-1 rating as well I do not see anything about Marine grade unless that is the MT-1. Do you know what this MT-1 means?
