Motor Caddy?

I have an 18 foot boat equipped with a 90hp Merc. There is a travel lock on the engine. Do I need to also use a motor caddy or support when trailering?
 
The motor caddy helps take some of the trailering stress off the transom of the boat. The tilt lock just keeps the outboard tilted up so the foot isn't near the ground, it doesn't help with stress on the transom. So IMHO, yes use one, I wouldn't trailier my boat without the motor caddy installed.
