Paragon HF-2 Rebuild

I'm in process of rebuilding my paragon HF-2 hydraulic reverse, Can't seem to get the drum separated from the collar. Does the collar thread onto the drum or do I have to remove the shaft first? Has anyone tried this before? Are there left handed threads involved? It is off my '60 CC Sea-Skiff.
