1980 mercury 9.8hp question

I have a mercury 1980 9.8 hp. I wanted to know if anybody could tell me how much exhaust should come out of the top exhaust port. I think mine is clogged, but I'm ensure to how much should be coming out. Thanks Chris

Virtually none. Carl hired some MIT egghead to design that exhaust muffling set up that actually works, but it's not a real exhaust port.
