Mercury 2.2 outboard, no start

Hi I am new here. I have 2.2hp mercury outboard motor that has been sitting for years. Motor does not start. It does not have spark. What should I check?
How do I check the the coil? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!
 
Is there a stop switch that needs to be held out with a clip ?---------------It does have a set of breaker points and they tend to get a coating on the contacts.-------If it sat for a long time , then pull the flywheel and clean the points.
