I have 1994 Yanmar 2GM20F with a B type instrument panel. The alarms & warning lights have failed, when I turn on the key.The motor is running fine. The alarm test switch still works.I have checked all the wiring on the back of the panel & all seems ok.Does any one no where to look next.

The multi-pin plug/socket that connects the panel harness to the engine wiring gets horribly corroded. Try spraying WD40 in it and clean the terminals the best you can, then put Vaseline on them. Might keep it alive for a while longer.

Since you only need to disconnect/reconnect it when you're doing major engine work (eg remove/refit) you can ditch it and replace with hard conections. Mine is dodgy - wiggle it and the alarms and rev counter stop. One of these days I'll rewire it with crimps or solder.
