Yamaha Dual Engine Spray on Port Engine

I have just installed two new Yamaha 60HP 2 cycle engines on my 2000 Twinvee 20 foot boat. The port engine is deflecting the spray from the top of the cavitation plate up to the spray deflector and then horizontally out into the water stream passing under the boat. The starboard engine is doing the same thing except the spray comes off the upper deflector, then goes up at about a 45 degree angle and sprays all over the port engine cowling. Water is getting sucked into the cowling and I'm afraid over time, this will damage the engine. Both engines were bolted on the same bolt pattern as my previous 60HP Mercury engines and all of the engines are 20" shafts. Any suggestions on how to eliminate this spray off the starboard engine?
