Best way to start 1988 8hp merc.

Hi i have just got a 1988 8hp.Belgium made Merc.(pull start) & don't have the users manual as yet .Is there a correct procedure to start this motor in moderate weather conditions as far as using the choke is concerned. All help will be appreciated...
 
Add fresh gas w oil mix. Prime bulb. Pull out choke. Pull cord til starts. Push choke back in.
You shouldnt use the choke if the engine is already warm, thats about the only caviat.
