quicksilver controller 4 pin harness

Quick question:

I get that the purple is +12 volts, the grey is the for the tach and the Black is GND. Why is the tan/blue striped wire in this harness. Does it go to a guage or to my main boat horn? I'm lost.

tan wire with blue stripe is usually the warning horn circuit -> overheat switch closed, low oil switch closed, etc.
 
mine has a temp alarm buzzer attached to the harness wiring under the console instead of in the remote. maybe that wire is for other possible applications. mine had tan/blue wire in harness that must have been for a buzzer in a remote that mine doesn't have. taped it up good so no shorts, left it for any future need.
