I had to replace the prop on my 2000 Yamha 40 HP. I've tightened the castle nut to the point where it turns the engine over. I've tried a 3/32" cotter pin as a keeper on the castle nut but it's just shy of fitting. Do I drop to a 1/16" cotter pin (smaller than original) or block the prop and torque the castle nut to what value? Or is the cotter pin a special part?
