I have a 26' Pursuit with twin 2000 DT200's. The boat needs new gauges which brings up a couple of questions.
I'm having a difficult time finding the tachometer(s)and was wondering a couple of things.
The tachs that came out have 5 wires coming out of the back (2 are for the illumination light). I've seen tachs advertised that have 9 wires out of the back. Does this mean that the additional wires are for the monitoring functions? Can I still use it without connecting the additional wires (mine doesn't have the extra functions)? Do the gauges have to be Suzuki manufactured or can I use any brand? Can a four stroke tach be used on a two stroke application? What coes the pin configuration have to do with anything?
