Tamd 40 coolant pump seal

I have recently rebuilt the water (circulation ) pump on my Volvo Tamd 40a's. The port went fine, but the starboard seal went out. The seals are difficult to install and I broken 3 in the whole process of both pumps. Does any one know the US seal, jim crane or burgmann part number to replace the volvo. The water pump from volvo is $500. The seal is about $35. I would like to get a local supplier if I damage more seals during install. Also, if there is a trick or procedure, that would be great. I may try to put the shaft in the freezer first. Thoughts, comments and lewd remarks?

A little research has uncovered that I installed Volvo seal number 1865827 into my pump. Marine parts express specifies volvo PN: 1545283. The seals that have given me problems do not fit on the shaft well. One of the seals that appears to work is a John Crane 224. I cannot find any source for the latter.
