Chevy 350 distributor

Can and how does a person convert a vacuum distributor for a chevy 350 into a centrifugal driven distributor? Is it just as simple as removing the vacuum advance? If so... How? A family member is trying find a new distributor and I am trying to help locate one. I am mechanically un-inclined.
 
Wanna help him - tell him DON'T.

Vacuum advance equipped units are not MARINE rated. Best solution if to get a marine rated unit and go from there.

Most units with the vacuumm advance also have the springs and weights on the inside.
