hooking up tach and speed odm to 87 90hp 3 cylinder mariner

Thanks to the guys who helped with year model problem, I am trying to figure out were the tach and speed meter hooks up to the engine. I found the gray tach wire in the pigtail but have not got to try it yet. But the speed meter has a vacume hook up on the back and i dont have a clue were that might go on the motor. any light would be greatly appreciated. thank you.
 
You will need to fit a pitot to the stern of your boat and run the hose to the back of the speedo. The grey wire is the pulse wire that goes to the tacho, the black will go to earth ( - ), and the purple will go to positive ( + ). Hope that helps
 
On the leading edge of the lower unit is a small hole, there should be a hose coming out of the unit also, hook that to the speedo. As said above the speedo works off preasure, this way you dont have to drill holes in the boat
