KAD 32 Engine Removal

Hi Fellas,
So here we are with the doner boat on the trailer, plenty of engine compartment space,

and full workshop facilities with overhead gantry and block and tackle

we do have the workshop manual but we cannot find any detailed instruction for engine removal procedure?
presumably we are starting with the removal of the outdrive (duoprop)

can anybody help?
Thank you

Remove outdrive, then:

Remove 6 bolts from 12" round adapter (on the outside of the transom assembly, it sits around the bellhousing and shaft splines)
Pull out adapter and large rubber o-ring

On the inside:

Disconnect raw water intake hose
Disconnect exhaust hose
Disconnect fuel feed and return lines (cap them)
Unplug wiring harness and move aside
Remove motor mount bolts
Disconnect battery + cable going to the starter
Disconnect battery - cable going to the bellhousing (and any other grounds)
Disconnect throttle cable at injection pump

Give it a visual check making sure nothing else is holding engine attached to the boat.
Connect chain and hoist the entire engine out. Make sure bellhousing clears the transom assembly by first going forward, and then up with the motor.

Its very simple and straightforward, sounds like you got all the right tools.

Good luck, let us know how it went

Thank you so much for such an informed answer, when you refer to the motor mount bolts could you just confirm you mean the 2 pads at the bottom of the engine that fix it to the bed/base, and nothing else, effectively it is the 2 mount bolts and the six bolts from around the adaptor that hold the engine in place.
thank you again and yes of course i will keep you posted,
kind regards Bill

yes, two pads........no, leave two big mount nuts alone, just remove ones that fasten mount pad into the stringer (boat)....actual motor mounts lift out with the motor

All done,
no probs as per your instruction engine is now safely stored on a pallet,( took 3 hours)
ready for its new boat.
thank you for your help. stringer Bell
