1986' 25ho horse mariner

hello again. i had a problem with my motor the other day. it was running great i made one trip around the lake looking for a good spot to fish. i slowed down for a couple min and it died. it seemed like some one just switched it off. it never sputtered or hesitated, it just stoped. The local repair shop cant get me in for 2 weeks, and the fish are biting now. i was just wondering if you had any ideas as to things to check. I havent had a chance to look at it today, but will get to it in the morning.

Re: 86' 25 horse mariner

Is it turning over? Remove the plugs and try turning the flywheel by hand,if you can't your motor is probably seized.Check the kill switch or more likely a bare wire grounding out.

i finaly had a chance to look it over. it turned over on the lake, just wouldn't start, so it is not seized. I have pulled the plugs and there is no spark. I don't see any broken or bare wires that could be causeing the problems. i will report back when i get it figured out.
