odd ball 1987 50 hp

I have a 1987 50 hp force and was told it was different than any other models all the service manuals stop at 1986 and pick back up at 88. my motor turns over and kicks back but won't start what whould cause this. i've been told maybe a head gasket

Do a compression test.Then a spark test.Post your results.Then check the fuel pump diaphram.J

ok thanks will the manual on a1986 work for my 87 i found one on ebay for 10 bocks
