Water pump replacement! 1982 25

Hi
I'm working on a 1982 Mariner 25 and am just waiting for the pump housing to arive so I can put it all back together. I put my house on the water tube and water flowed out the hole fine. When I put it back together will I only get a small amount of water until the thermostat opens?

ARE you talking about once you re attach the water pump with the bottom end. You wont get any flow if you fit muffs until the engine is running or there is something wrong.

No I mean when I get it all back together and running, will the water flow right away or do I have to run it a few minutes before the water will come from the pee hole!

It should flow immediately and hard through the pee hole.
