i have a 2002 mercury 2 stroke 90 hp and i want to take that oil injection off and mix it my self... cuz i dont trust it and have heard horror story do i need a block off plate ot can i just plug the hose

Rule 1:
If it works, dont fix it!
Rule 2:
If in doubt, refer to rule 1.
Engines with oil mix pumps are designed arouind that pump. Depending on engine loads, the pump adjust the oil mix to match the running conditions.
It is not a good idea to redesign what engineers have acomplished in the past 70 years. There is a horror story for every engine model ever made so I think before changing out stuff that will hurt your engine, think about selling it and getting something different.
