1988 johnson 30 hp -- weak spark

  1. When I pull the starting rope hard, I get fairly strong spark on the bottom cylinder and a weaker spark on the top cylinder. But when I pull the rope half that hard I get a weaker spark on the bottom cylinder and no spark on the top cylinder.
  2. When I check the ignition coils with my multimeter I get a reading of 252 ohms. are my coils weak or about right.
  3. If I have to pull the flywheel, does the nut on top have a left hand or a right hand thread. It is on there real tight.
  4. The last time I had the boat out on the water the motor started firing on only one cylinder for about 5 minutes and then died out. so if I can, I would like to ask you for help - - - thank you
