I have a 2004 Mercury 4 stroke EFI 40 HP. Runs and starts great had issues with regulator and changed out at my cost. Problem the engine will run great for hours at any speed until you turn it off for 10 to 30 min. Then when you start it it will misfire, sputter, and stall. If you let it sit for another 30 min's it seems to work fine. I am at my wits end. I believe it may be a cooling system issue, but no gauge to confirm temperatures.
