Re-wiring a 1973' 65HP

Anything to watch out for when re-wiring an engine, other than wire placement?

This site seems to have the part I need.

This is preventative maintainence only.
Should I do it?

Anything else to buy to go along with it?

if the insulation,is coming off wires,..do it....i would suggest,a wiring diagram,or a drawing of where the wires go....

Thanks, I have both the Seloc and factory manual.
No insulation is coming off, but there are funny bends, electrical tape that is non-factory, and all the colors are grease gray.
I have had a lot of enjoyment from this engine in the last two seasons, I don't want something a simple as a shorted wire to ruin lots of expensive components.
