Brought this engine second hand fitted it to a zodiac yacht line deluxe, apparently the chap i bought it from, said it ran perfectly on his boat ????
first time out on zodiac at low revs started to miss fire running on two / one, when oppening throttle to aprox half would cut into three. Return to base stripped and cleaned carbs, on water trial, went out fine for approx 30 mins, same problem arose. This time found water in engine fuel filter, emptyed; cleaned carbs out again, ran fine, water tested, ran fine for 45 mins, then went down onto two at low rpm, number 2 cylinder not working, return to base,
thinking must be fuel problem ? ,
removed tank from boat and then as well as cleaning the carbs fuel pump and tank also replaced the fuel pipe / primer and added in line filter. ran fine, water test ran fine for two hours and then dropped onto two at low rpm, by the time we got back into the harbor one cylinder running which was #2, the one the previous day was not running.
