1977 140hp Lower unit swap

Hi all
Lot of great help found on this site.

My first question is, will the lower unit of a 1977 140hp long shaft Evinrude swap with the lower unit of a 1982 140hp long shaft? Are they interchangable?
Both are manual shift

Question two.. Will the pistons and heads interchange of those two engines interchange?

Thanks for any advice..

The legs of the 1977-1991 ... 90, 115, & 140 HP Johnrudes are "supposed" to be interchangeable.

I would guess the pistons/rods are the same- but the only real way to tell is by part#
Perhaps the sierra catalog lists the application.
