replaced hose and primer bulb between tank and engine. Removed anti siphon from gas tank.
After priming the bulb the engine will start up and run fine but after sitting for a short time the bulb needs to pumped in order to run again. Warning horn recently sounded when going at slow speeds signaling lack of gas.
Is the problem the fuel pump eventhough the engine runs fine after priming?

Thanks for any comments!

Re: Runs only when bulb is primed

the warning horn does not give an alarm for gas.
the motor only runs fine until it runs out of the gas you just pumped in?, if so sounds like a bad fuel pump to me. if not we need more info.

Re: Runs only when bulb is primed

It's the no oil light but I read that in this model it will go off if there is a lack of fuel. The motor will run for as long as I want it to (10 miles) until I shut it down..then it seems to lose pressure in the line and I have to pump it up again to start and run it again.
Could there be an air leak somewhere else?

Re: Runs only when bulb is primed

Did you re-use any of the fuel line connectors? If so, anything leaking on the suction side of the primer bulb can cause the loss of prime. Usually, a bad fitting on the other side of the primer is easier to spot because they will leak when you pump the bulb.
