Does anyone know where to get parts?

I recently got a 1973 Clinton K700 7hp motor built for Ward's Sea King for free. The compression is 120psi. Unfortunately the clutch is broken and I'm having no luck finding a new/used one. I've been trying to call Clinton Engine Parts Company(cepco) but I can't get anyone on the phone.

I've been told to just run the motor as a direct drive but I don't want to. I got it running in a trash can but it wants more gas than idle to stay running so I never even got it warmed up. I plan to run it without the lower unit for some further testing. I will hook a garden hose up to the lower cooling system.

I would even be open to retrofitting a similar clutch from a different motor. Can someone hook me up with a recycler or parts dealer that might be able to help me. I made the mistake of buying a new impellor already so I hate to just get rid of this motor. If I can't work out the clutch issue I will offer this motor up for parts I guess.. Thanks for looking. Tom

You can try an ad on the Antique outboard collectors club web site;

http://www.aomci.org/index.htm

And here's a site that claims to have alot of used parts;

http://www.twincityoutboards.com/

Good Luck with your motor.

Thanks Steve, I've had an ad up there(antique outboards) for a couple of days but no replies. Actually almost none of the ads have any replies there. I listed my email address of course. I'll try to call twin cities tomorrow.

"good luck"; Thanks, seems like I'll need it if I'm ever gonna get some ink on my salmon/steelhead tag this year...

Still hoping for some more leads!!!

Unfortunately Clinton is no longer in business. And all replies to ads at AOMCI will be either in a phone call, email or PM if you listed one. No posts are supposed to be made on the ad site. Twin Cities does have lots of parts but can be expensive.
