New member here. I have,I think is a 1968 Buehler Turbocraft. It has the following Engine part numbers. I would appreciate any information on this engine that someone may be able to give to me. It is a Ford Interceptor and that is all I know.

Timing cover NOA82L04628
Front of left manifold 501P
front of right manifold 504L
Intake manifold FM405
Carter carbs YH brass tag 618S

I can't find anything definitive- but I have a couple info sheets on other Interceptors that may help with your question.

Timing cover: NO A82L04628
NO=number
A= 145HP 256cu.in. Y-block (there was a 135HP, &150HP version also)
82= equipment- need the code book to decipher (drive, ignition)
L= standard rotation
0= 1960
4628= sequential serial number (your's falls into the 145HP #range)
Manifold numbers are just part numbers
Carter YH is a side-draft version of the YF Carb. It was used for many years on twin-carb Nash, Early Vette (53-55), Corvairs, and even lift-trucks(tow motors,fork-lift).

With your engine- I DOUBT your Beuler is a 1968. More likely- it's a 1960-1961, or been re-powered. By the mid-60's the Interceptor engines were the 260 & 289 Fords.. FAR different from the Y-blocks. I have a complete running 1965 260 Interceptor I pulled from a 1965 Glaspar V17. It is serial #GT90R524783. I haven't been able to find much about that engine either.

Thank you so much for the engine information. I now think I have a 1960 Turbocraft. I'm restoring the boat to like I last restored it thirteen years ago. I need original Tach? I might never find one? Thanks again Richard in Maine
