I just replaced the cylinder head gasket on my 40hp Johnson.
I torqued the bolts just right as the manual says.
Before I replaced the gasket the engine was weak and stopped when I opened the throttle just a little. There was also lots of fuel in the cooling water.
Now the engine was very hard to start the first time after the gasket was replaced.
I got it to start and took it for a ride. The engine idles bad and runs like a cangaroo
up and down, like I was jumping the throttle up and down.
Sometimes I runs ok for a minute or so, but then it begins to rew up and down. Should say that I'm still using the oil tank, not mixing the fuel my self. Should I mix the fuel myself and take away the oil tank?
What can be my problem?
