where is the serial umber

Did you mean Ford 351 and 390 engines?
On the late 60's engines- they are usually on a tag on the timing cover.

Or.. for the "Cleveland" blocks... on a metal tag just behind the carburetor bolted to the intake manifold.

Thanks dr and sportfour---I looked and there are no numbers on the timing cover and no tag bolted on the manifold. The engine is in a 1960 resorter and looks like an ad I have seen for a 1959 361 complete with a square type air filter--there is no century decal or HP decal just an Interceptor decal on one valve cover--to bad the serial numbers were not stamped.
