Hi,
I inherited a 1954 Johnson C-11 from my dad and it needs a seal that lies in the groove on top the skeg and a new starter pull rope. The seal seams like I could use any rubber type seal that will fit and make a tight seal but the pull rope has me puzzled. It has a copper wire running through the length of it with a copper or brass hook at the end of it that looks crimped. The rope I see here looks nylon without the wire so I was thinking it may stretch after time since the original looks cotton. Anyone have any ideas where to find vintage replacement parts? Thanks for your input... Donna
