tachometer DF 140 freezed at 1000 RPM's

The tack moves to about 1000 rpm and stays at that level while the boat is operating. This all seems to have started when my oil light started blinking. I reset the oil light per the suzuki manual. Are they any suggestion what the problem is ? All other lights on the tack are working ok on the initial startup.

I had the same problem with one of my tachometers, it will not get better.
I purchased a new one from Brown's Point Marine for $ 149.05.
You may try eBay first, one of my friends fond one (Farina, not Suzuki) for his boat for about $ 20.
It is an easy replacement even if you are not handy
